I miss volunteering.

I volunteered for five years as a camp counselor at Northampton County Junior Conservation School (NCJCS).

Really starting to miss being involved with volunteer projects involving environmental stewardship.

Just sent out an e-mail to Pool Wildlife Sanctuary (AKA the Wildlands Conservancy) in Emmaus, PA, to see if there were any volunteer opportunities available. If they reply back with no availabilities, I’ll e-mail Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Even though it’s double the distance away, I think it’d be a really valuable experience and totally worth it.

I’m so sick of thinking about money, and my future…. I just wanting to be outdoors and feeling good. What better way to do that through volunteer work (maybe maintenance, or helping run educational programs?) at the local environmental organizations?

I’m pretty sure this was all brought on today when I realized I’ll be spending a lot of my time doing retail now (well, not that much - part time). But, I have a tendency to feel like crap working in retail and a week or two into the job, I know I’m going to start to yearn for something more fulfilling than the undeniable oncoming cycle of school, work, get drunk.
